Coffee and breakfast at Bartertown Diner.
Enjoying some coffee while we get some well needed rain.
I’ve had this dress for a while and only wore it a handful of times. I always thought the white was just too white. I had some leftover liquid dye from re-dyeing some jeans. Make sure to read all of the instructions first. I decided to use my kitchen sink since it is stainless steel ...
After hoarding leftover candle chunks, I finally decided to melt them into new ones. All you need are some leftover wax, glass jars, double boiler(I used one big pot and a smaller one) and some wicks. I found these wicks at Hobby Lobby that were pretty cheap. I also bought some Citronella Oil because these ...
This week I decided to tackle a project that we have been meaning to do for a while. Our compost bin has been a joke since we made the makeshift one a year or so ago. Here is the before: It’s a little sad, isn’t it? On Monday, I finally had the motivation to ...
Today started off with a great thunderstorm and rain. Now, it is sunny and warming up. Love Michigan weather and the Spring season. This picture of my starter kit makes me smile.
Found this canister while I was cleaning the mess that is my room… Once I pried it open, I found these lovelies…
Found this through Apartment Therapy. It’s a magazine that you can read but also use as wrapping paper for small objects. It solves the dilemma of what to do with old issues that are just laying around. Great innovation on an everyday item. A plus is that they use vegetable based inks and 100% recycled paper.
Just added a new Market bag to the shop. Four separate straps give this bag much versatility. They can be knotted different ways depending on the way you are using it. I also treated it with soy wax for water resistance.
Hope your day is special and filled with love! Happy Valentine’s Day!
I have been working on some sewing projects and decided to take a break with paper! Valentine’s is coming up and I always try to hand make something. This year I made a card:
For presents! Finally started getting gifts ready for the family. This year, we decided to use packaging paper and red string for a rustic look. I also used some white paint on some packages.
Market is open this weekend Friday 5-10pm and Saturday 12-6pm. Stop by, great booths! Also, check out the window display! Don’t forget to vote for it at HollyJolly. Click the Terrific button.
Working on something new! Hopefully it will turn out the way I picture it.
It’s raining in Michigan. But looking at some pretty flowers on the sill makes it a little better. Who cares if they are fake ones!
Here is another scarf added to the shop!
With the weather being what it is in Michigan, I have been making scarves! I’ve added them to the shop. Take a look!
Loving this blog about Tiny Houses. It is interesting to see how people are reverting back to a simpler home. Leaving behind unnecessary/unused possessions is very appealing. Also, having no mortgage is definitely a plus!
Just added a new pillow to the Etsy shop. Check it out along with other items!
To ME! Crazy, another year went by!
Found this simple DIY to make an A-frame tent. I would definitely like to make this for a certain nephew! This tutorial is brought to you by My Cakies.

I finally got to go home to see the family for Mother’s Day. It was nice to just hang out and relax.
Finally posting some pictures from Julian’s first Easter!
Here are some fun pictures from this winter.
This is amazingly small. This is the new mobile home. This is the future in the shape of an egg.
This is what you’ve missed in the last part of 2009: I bought a house: Had Thanksgiving in my new house: Saw my nephew: And had Christmas:
I usually like snow…but this winter has started out bad. Yesterday, I was on my way to work and my battery/alternator died. I called AAA right away but it took the tow truck two and a half hours to get to me. Stuck outside on the side of the road on the first real snow ...
We took the family to the Michigan Renaissance Festival last weekend while I visiting my parents. It was fun to see all the costumes and all the crafts. The food was great too. We ate fried dough balls covered with cheddar and garlic powder sprinkled on top. We also had huge turkey legs and a ...

I went to the Ann Arbor, MI Art Fair. It was the same as every year. Same kinds of things, little trinkets, big trinkets. It was nice to get out and make our way through the maze of people. The weather actually held up too. It seemed like it was going to rain a couple ...
We decided to make some pillows for a wedding gift for some friends. I like the thought that someone made something special for their celebration. The idea of a bridal registry is so unappealing. I would like to be surprised when it comes to gifts instead of just checking it off a list. Yes, the ...
I finally grew some plants! I don’t remember what they are…just flowers I guess. It’s starting to look like a jungle. The only problem is, there are little gnats all around.

My sister just had her baby shower recently and I was in charge of the decorations. I figured that it was useless to buy paper decorations and just throw them away after the party. So, I came up with a plan to find baby clothes and make a clothesline as the decoration. Here are the pictures. My mom also ...
This would be my dream room. Books everywhere. This is from Apartment Therapy.
This past weekend I went to the Fulton Street Farmer’s Market for the first time. It was fun just to see everyone moseying along. The weather wasn’t that great but the smells made up for it. There were fresh vegetables and flowers. So beautiful.
I left my little plants in the sun one weekend without any water. They are now dead. I am a little sad, but I planted the rest of the seeds in some new eco friendly planters.
Made some flowers out of tissue paper, pipe cleaners, stem wrap tape, and glitter spray. Took a while to get them done, but they turned out well. I made them from the tutorial from Folding Trees.
I always like finding new ways to reuse objects you already possess which is why I like these: This is a suitcase pet bed from vintagerenaissance’s etsy page. And a girl’s shirt dress from Dana’s blog Made.
Little Diggs is a website that explores ways to utilize small spaces. A lot of the time, people find themselves in an apartment that is too small and they cannot find a solution. Little Diggs solves that problem by researching ways to maximize what you have by using furniture that doubles as something else. Here ...
Corvus tristis posted a tutorial on weaving cheap. They found old shirts from the thrift store and cut them into yarn. It is a really great idea if you don’t have a lot of money and you want to reuse old clothing.
Here is a great way to post messages in your home without the mess. Apartment Therapy created a message board that can be hidden within your kitchen cupboards. I really like the chalkboard and the home made pushpins.
Birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and the buds are sprouting!
Here is a how to from Little Green Notebook on turning old mini blinds into Roman shades. It is a great way to revamp a room without spending a lot of money. Make Shades Out of Mini Blinds Â
