Wrap…

Found this through Apartment Therapy. It’s a magazine that you can read but also use as wrapping paper for small objects. It solves the dilemma of what to do with old issues that are just laying around. Great innovation on an everyday item. A plus is that they use vegetable based inks and 100% recycled paper.

Waxed Market Bag

Just added a new Market bag to the shop. Four separate straps give this bag much versatility. They can be knotted different ways depending on the way you are using it. I also treated it with soy wax for water resistance.

For presents! Finally started getting gifts ready for the family. This year, we decided to use packaging paper and red string for a rustic look. I also used some white paint on some packages.

Tonight and tomorrow I will be downtown GR for the Avenue of the Arts Market. So very excited to be a part of this event. Location is 10 Weston, the old Little Bohemia store.

Made another set of coasters. Maybe one day I will make an actual quilt!

I received some quilting books from an aunt and now I am trying my hand at some small items. I just added a set of coasters to the shop. I made them out of  a bright yellow, to bring some sunshine to the day!

Loving this blog about Tiny Houses. It is interesting to see how people are reverting back to a simpler home. Leaving behind unnecessary/unused possessions is very appealing. Also, having no mortgage is definitely a plus!

Memorial Day Weekend…

This past weekend I went to the Fulton Street Farmer’s Market for the first time. It was fun just to see everyone moseying along. The weather wasn’t that great but the smells made up for it. There were fresh vegetables and flowers. So beautiful.

Dead Plants…

I left my little plants in the sun one weekend without any water. They are now dead. I am a little sad, but I planted the rest of the seeds in some new eco friendly planters.

Flowers…

Made some flowers out of tissue paper, pipe cleaners, stem wrap tape, and glitter spray. Took a while to get them done, but they turned out well. I made them from the tutorial from Folding Trees.

Repurposing…

Little Diggs is a website that explores ways to utilize small spaces. A lot of the time, people find themselves in an apartment that is too small and they cannot find a solution. Weaving…

Corvus tristis posted a tutorial on weaving cheap. They found old shirts from the thrift store and cut them into yarn. It is a really great idea if you don’t have a lot of money and you want to reuse old clothing.

Cupboards…

Here is a great way to post messages in your home without the mess. Apartment Therapy created a message board that can be hidden within your kitchen cupboards. I really like the chalkboard and the home made pushpins.

Quilt…

I found a tutorial for a Cathedral Window Quilt from Hyena In Petticoats and made it for a friend as a wedding gift. It is an easy quilt using origami techniques. This is also a great way to use up scrap pieces of fabric for the “windows” in the quilt.

Spring is Here!

Birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and the buds are sprouting!

Butterflies…

After making a stencil, I traced the butterfly onto scrap-booking paper. I cut out each butterfly, and taped it to my wall. I also added some white swirls to break it up a little.

Silhouettes…

Here are some pictures I made using catalog pages. I outlined figures I liked and made silhouettes. Then, I glued strips of colorful pages for the background. It’s easily duplicated but time consuming.
